Canadian National Railway - Bridges and Structures Jan 97 - Aug 97
Assistant Design Engineer
- Designed concrete repairs, steel jacking brackets and scaffolding
for various bridge rehabilitation projects.
- Worked alongside Structural Engineer, Project Engineer, Consultants,
and Draftsman to ensure designs completed as required.
- Participated in approximately 10 detailed bridge inspections
alongside trained bridge inspectors (steel, concrete, timber).
- Developed program to facilitate simple rating of timber bridges.
- Aided project Engineer in compiling tender packages for timber
bridge reconstruction project. Subsequently joined CN site engineer
on project start-up. (i.e. equipment/material move in, site prep,
pile driving, etc)

- Worked along side Project Engineer, Material Technician,
and Contractor to ensure use of construction material, compaction,
and culvert placement met with projects design specifications
- Calculated cut and fill quantities from survey data and subsequent

- Verbal and written progress reports required by Project Engineer
on a daily basis
